About UNA
Together We Are Strong — the United Nurses Association is a professional association of registered nurses, and UNA UK is its cultural wing for nurses in the United Kingdom.
Our History
United Nurses Association (UNA) is a professional association of registered nurses that began in Kerala, India. It was created by Jasminsha and six other working nurses of Thrissur on 16 November 2011, formed amid a public outcry over the working conditions, bond systems and welfare of nurses. UNA quickly gained awareness among nurses and wider society through social media and grassroots organising.
Our Vision
To be part of a thriving, globally connected community of nurses where UNA’s spirit celebrated, shared with future generations, and serves as a bridge between our homeland and our new home.
Our Mission
To support, empower and unite nurses in the UK through cultural celebration, mutual aid and community building — while honouring our roots in the United Nurses Association, Kerala.
